The last couple of weeks have been challenging for everyone and we hope that you, your colleagues, families and friends are all doing well considering.

Due to the Corona shutdown we had to rethink and redesign our processes over a short period of time. That way we managed to maintain the Europcar rental standard and ensure fleet availability for our business and leisure customers.

As of today, we are back to full work capacity and availability with the whole Europcar Austria team.

Announcement Regarding COVID-19


All of our car rental stations as the head office of Europcar Austria are due to the current situation in Austria only available at very limited extent. Therefor we have set up an emergency service for car rental returns.

In view of the current situation related to Covid-19, we have received updated instructions from our Government which, among other measures, include the following:

- Freedom of movement is heavily restricted in Austria

- Departures and incoming flights to and from Austria are heavily restricted

- All business – with certain exceptions – shall suspend operation.



In view of the above we adjust our operations to minimize human physical intervention. Our operation will be effectively scaled down as of March 17th 2020. Therefore, we ask for your understanding and assistance!


Customers currently driving a car

Anyone returning the vehicle should follow procedure “SELF-RETURN”

- this is possible in all stations.


A.) SELF-RETURN: For our customers who will return their car and a team member is not there:

1. Please park the car at one of the Europcar signed parking positions

2. Take photos using your cell phone or camera of the car from all the sides of the vehicle.

3. Please also take a picture of the mileage and fuel gauge.

4. Lock the car and then drop the key at the key box located at the parking kiosk/office.

5. Send your photos to the email adress of the return station, see the full list here www.europcar.at/stations

6. You will receive the final invoice after we have collected the car and closed the rental agreement


B.) Amendments

1. Are you returning the car earlier?

3. Do you want to change the return and drop off station?

Cancellations less than 48h before pick-up

Cancellations between 48h prior to booking and right up to the pick up time will be free for rentals until 31st May, please contact our call centers.

Customer information on the coronavirus ( Covid-19)




Travel information Italy

The Austrian Federal Government issued an official travel warning for all of Italy on March 10th 2020. An entry to Italy is not recommended and all Austrians were asked to leave Italy. In order to protect our employees, drivers and customers, Europcar Austria is now prohibiting entry to Italy with Austrian vehicles at least until April 3rd 2020. Further restrictions are possible – these are depending on the decisions made by the Austrian authorities.

In the context of the Covid-19 outbreak, our employees and customers safety is of course our top priority.
This is why we strictly follow the recommendations of the World Health Organization (WHO) and of the national health authorities in the countries where we operate. 
We also ask all our customers to keep up to date with the latest events and recommendations for action with the same authorities. 
All of our stations are currently open for you as usual and ready to welcome you with the same quality of service.  
We remind our customers that our cancellation policy guarantees a free cancellation up to 48h before the pick-up time.
