Europcar clear winner of ÖGVS consumer study.

Test of 9 car rental companies based on offers, pricing & support services.

The independent research institute ÖGVS/Gesellschaft für Verbraucherstudien GmbH rated the offerings and performance of Europcar Austria as the best in Austria. Europcar clearly differentiated itself from the eight other market entrants and emerged as the industry leader.

In the peak season for car rental, it is a challenge to keep a cool head and continue providing high-quality service in the rent-a-car business despite heavy booking requests. The most recent comparison shows the strong performance of Europcar Austria. It is well-known that ÖGVS Gesellschaft für Verbraucherstudien GmbH tests providers and their offerings. In the car rental company study, the top nine car rental companies and their products for corporate and private customers were tested. Due to the increase in rentals in the private customer segment, the summer months, continuing into autumn, have the highest capacity utilisation in the industry.


In addition to fair rental terms, anyone who needs a rental car counts on good availability, a broad range of vehicles and models, and optimal pricing for the rental, but also on extra services and easy and secure booking channels – online or by phone or e-mail. For many customers, the network of rent-a-car company locations and competent and friendly customer service are decisive. This includes customer friendly advice before the rental agreement is signed – but also afterwards if there is any assessment of damage to the car.


“The fact that Europcar emerged as the overall test winner in this study is proof that our continuous process optimisation and intensive market analysis do justice to our customers and their wishes”, said Inés Kaufmann, Managing Director of Europcar Austria. Europcar, as the test winner, will continue to keep transparency in the foreground, because that is what both corporate and private customers demand. Europcar Austria was the test winner in the study with an overall rating of “good” (1.9). “We see this gratifying result as both a reward for our past performance and a challenge for the future”, Kaufmann emphasised.
